One click voting that stays personal
Why Symboulion takes votes only on the page or through a signed link, and what happens when the quorum is not met.
Clusters often decide by email. Someone sends a proposal, people reply that they agree, and then someone counts the replies hoping nobody was missed.
In Symboulion a reply to an email is never read as a vote. You vote on the page or with one click on a signed link, which works only for one person and one vote.
- ProposalA group member writes a proposal in a topic.
- OpeningThe group leader opens the vote and chooses how many days it runs.
- EmailEvery member gets an email with three signed links: for, against, abstain.
- ConfirmThe click opens a page and the vote counts only on the button. Email scanners therefore cannot vote.
- ResultAfter the deadline every group member sees the result, the quorum and who voted how.
Anyone with a conflict of interest declares it with their vote on the page. The vote still counts, and others see that the conflict was declared.
The quorum is more than half of the members who can vote. In a group of 15 people that is 8. If fewer vote, the decision still stands, with a note on how many voted. Nothing gets stuck, and nobody can say they did not know.
You can change your vote until the vote closes. The deadline also appears in your calendar, with a reminder the day before.
