Rules of the table, AI reminds, people decide
Twelve rules, four possible outcomes and why AI never punishes.
Companies that are sometimes competitors sit at the same table. That is why there are rules of the table, twelve short sentences everyone accepts on the way in.
AI reads every message before it is published and checks it against the rules. But AI does not delete, does not block accounts and does not punish. The most it can do is hold a message and explain why.
- PublishThe message is fine and shows in the topic right away. This is the most common outcome.
- Publish with a reminderThe message goes through and the author sees a reminder of a rule. For example when a conflict of interest should be declared.
- Hold and explainThe message waits. The author gets an explanation and can edit it or ask people to take a look.
- To peopleCluster representatives decide on the message, and the decision and reasoning are recorded.
When AI is unsure, it picks the milder outcome. Three rules are the exception: price fixing and sharing sensitive commercial data, bribery, and circumventing the system. There any doubt goes to people, because a message held by mistake costs a few minutes, while one published by mistake can cost the whole cluster.
One rule applies to us as well. Nobody advertises at the table, not members, not partners, not Symboulion itself.
You can read the rules in full on the Rules of the table page.
